Daito Ryu Aikibudo Daito Ryu Aikibudo
This is the first book in English to uncover the roots, techniques and principles of this ancient art dating back to the XIIth century. It has been directled handed down by the last Soke Takeda Tokimune and his most faithful and competent students. Daito Ryu is the most popular traditional Japanese martial art at the roots of many famous Jujutsu Ryu and martial art disicplines: Aikido, Yoseikan Budo, Hakko Ryu, Hapkido, Shorinji Kempo. Its study had also an influence on characters like Mas Oyama, (founder of Kyokushinkan Karate) and Morihei Ueshiba (founder of aikido), whose art is almost entirely based upon his many years of training in Daito Ryu as a close student of soke Takeda.

This book was written by Antonino Certa, one of the very few westerner who have ever studied for a consistent time with the Soke. This book includes 40 pages of writings by Takeda Tokimune that were never published before and over 250 professional photos. The book gives a technical and historical approach on both the Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu and the Ono-ha Itto Ryu Kenjutsu, the japanese fencing school transmitted in a parallel way to the Daito Ryu since the XVIIth century. This book is the ultimate guide on Koryu (traditional martial arts), and a valid support to those really interested in the martial arts.
