When Pedro asked me to participate in his new book, I did it with enthousiasm and the result is way beyond my expectations. During the last 20 years, Pedro has been the closest student ofHatsumi Sesnei and has had the opportuinity to share nuemerous discussions with the Sôke.
Throughout this book you will share with Pedro the same knowledge and learn things that are usually given to the ones close to him. The book is made of three parts.
Part 1 deals with Pedro's vision of the Budô that he shared with the grandmaster.
Many subjects are discussed here: Koppô, judgement, Honbu Dôjô, Budô, Limits,
gratitude, death, the world, change, realism, happiness, kaname, thespirit of budô,
Bufu Ikkan, perseverance, transmiting, surprise, playing, keep going etc...
Each page is illustrated with techniques by Sôke.
In the second part of the book Pedro has asked some of his friends to answer a series of
questions around our art and how they got into it. This is very interesting to see the different
perspectives from people training in the same Budô but coming form different cultures.
In the last part, Pedro explains his vision through various articlesthat he has been printing all
over the years and interviews that he has given.
Then he introduces us to the fantastic world of Kukishin Bô jutsu. All techniques are
explained with detailed pictures.
380 pages - Written in English and Spanish - more than 500 pictures.
In my opinion, this is an important book for our community.
